Early Discovery of a Natural Talent
While on a family outing on the beach at the age of 8, a young Mariella was drawn to the sound of music. In a matter of minutes, she was playing the bongo drums with the band in front of a mesmerized crowd of beach goers.
Without any formal musical training and hearing only a few notes, Mariella was playing the same music that had taken the members of the band months to coordinate! It's this inherent ability that was confirmed when Mariella won her first of many musical achievements - a competition that featured her first composed and performed piano score. She was 11 years old.
